Through the Future Focus Programme (FFP) funding the Schools International Education Business Association (SIEBA) commissioned Edified to write a report on international business recovery planning for New Zealand schools. This report looks at how future scenarios can prepare schools for the rebuild, how schools can work through recovery planning, what the landscape will look like coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, what risks and opportunities exist and how digital first marketing and global citizenship can help the sector to reinvent itself. The findings of this report contain takeaways that have value for more than just the school sector.
The Strategic Recovery Plan for International Education included funding to explore and develop a digital platform to deliver online learning. Rather than building a digital platform immediately, ENZ decided to explore and prototype two models first. This report outlines one of these prototypes: a pilot programme using a rented third-party platform with a global learner base of 15 million people.
Check out ENZ's communications toolkit that helps you tell stories about the benefits of international education to New Zealanders. The significant impacts of COVID-19 mean international education needs increased public support to rebuild and recover, so it can help our country to do the same. By using unified messaging and telling shared stories, we can create a new international education story that captures the hearts and minds of the New Zealand public.
